Chick-fil-A Grand Opening Avoids Confrontation With OC Gay Youth Group

Chick-fil-A officials at the grand opening of a restaurant in Laguna Hills, Calif., decided to shift gears for the national chain's traditional "First 100" food-for-a-year contest and hold the event the night before it was scheduled in order to avoid any confrontations during a protest by a gay youth group Thursday morning.

Renowned evangelist Billy Graham – who has been among the top 10 of USA Today/Gallup poll's annual most admired people in the world list more than 50 times – issued a statement Thursday in support of Chick-fil-A's leaders and their public stance on marriage.

A group of Indiana churches may look to purchase a piece of public property near a major roadway that a cross was built on as a way of keeping the cross from being taken down over church-state concerns.

About one-third of the colleges and universities in the United States are on a financially unsustainable path, according to a study conducted by Bain & Company and Sterling Partners. The Christian Post found 10 Christian colleges and universities deemed financially unsustainable along with a number of others considered at risk of becoming financially unsustainable.

Voter ID laws have emerged as one of the hot-button political issues of the past few years. And now a group of Pennsylvania citizens and organizations are challenging the state law and presenting their case in state court this week, bypassing the traditional path most voter rights cases take through federal courts.
